*OLDER ADULTS SHARING IN SERVICE

In 2018, Canvas launched a 50 Plus Ministry designed to strengthen and encourage relationships among our older adult Community. Marti Lembke, with the support of her husband Bill, have taken over the OASIS ministry and breathed new life into it. OASIS hosts multiple special events throughout the year and meet once a month to connect, discuss on how to best serve Canvas, and to answer the question 'Are we done yet?'.

OASIS meets once a month on the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 2 PM - 4 PM.

Bill and Marti both grew up on Vancouver island. Always serving in whatever Church they attended, in 2001 they heard God calling them into full time ministry. After much prayer, in 2002,  they left their jobs, packed up their home and moved to Poland. They served there for 5 years with International Messengers, organizing camps, women’s retreats, leading Bible studies and teaching English.
They came home in 2008 for a time of refreshment planning to head back, but God had other plans so they settled back in to life in Canada
The year’s since returning have found them in several different Churches, but always serving in music, women’s ministry or wherever God leads.
In 2025 they joined Canvas and immediately felt a part of the family. God kept reminding them that even though they are seniors now, they are not done yet. Bill is playing with the worship team and together they are leading the OASIS (older adults sharing in service) group.
